Creatures that lived in water moved onto the land between 360 million and 390 million years ago, according to the theory of evolution. Ships have not yet developed in the same way, but an artist who is at home with sculpture and engineering has plans to build the first walking boat.
James Capper came up with the idea in 2010 with a drawing of a walking ship while doing an MA in sculpture at London’s Royal College of Art.
