Petronas’ PFLNG Satu has been onsite 180km (112 miles) off Bintulu in eastern Malaysia for 14 months.
The unit, built by shipyard DSME and engineers Technip, received first gas into its onboard liquefaction unit in November 2016, producing LNG a month later.
With a production capacity of 1.2 mtpa, PFLNG Satu (“satu” translates as “one”) can load around 20 LNG carriers a year.
