Developers looking at monetising nearshore stranded gasfields already have an off-the-shelf option when it comes to using an FLNG unit.
Exmar took delivery in late July of the first barge-based unit, Caribbean FLNG, which is still looking for a home after the original charterer, Pacific Rubiales Energy, canned the project it was designed to serve.
