What was your earliest memory?
Learning to row a Sears aluminium rowboat on a lake in New Hampshire.
Did you go through training/university or straight into work?
I started my shipping career as a plebe candidate at the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York. The Jones Act indoctrination was helpful, but I knew there could be more.
Who have been your mentors?
I’m not sure that I ever considered anyone as a mentor.
