The UK law firm said today that it tapped Joe Walsh, whowas a partner at the US rival, along with his team.

They will set up shop in Newport Beach, an Orange County suburb.

Senior Clyde lawyers say the move is part of efforts to expand in the United States and help bolster the firm’s marine and energy practice.

“This combination fits like a hand in a glove with ourglobal practice in that sector,” said John Keough, a maritime law partner inClyde’s New York office.
