An idled Venezuelan fast ferry has partially sunk in Puerto la Cruz.

The port side of the 6,000-gt Carmen Ernestina (built 1999) flooded on 9 October, local reports said, causing it to list.

The Conferry vessel came to rest on the seabed as a result.

The vessel has been in layup and was reportedly being lined up for sale or scrapping.

Authorities blamed a swell for the water ingress.
