A Smit tug is bringing an abandoned Greek bulker into Cape Town following a fire and flooding.
The stricken 27,800-dwt Antaios (built 1999) was 650 miles west of the South African port on Wednesday, under tow by the 2,100-dwt Smit Amandla (built 1976), the South African Maritime Safety Authority (Samsa) said.
The 19 crew were picked up by a Japanese bulker from lifeboats and arrived in Cape Town on Tuesday.
