The latest attacks against tankers raise a number of issues given their location, the methods used by the assailants and rising tensions in the Middle East, maritime security executives say.

As TradeWinds reported last week, three rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) were fired at the 70,297-dwt Muskie (built 2013) in the Bab Al Mandeb (BAM) strait.

And the 74,996-dwt Navig8 Providence (built 2016) came under fire 100 nautical miles east of Muscat, just off the designated High Risk Area (HRA).
