The US Coast Guard (USCG) have medevaced a 44-year-old man from a Japanese chemical tanker off the southern United States.

The unnamed seafarer was airlifted from the 33,609-dwt Argent Bright (built 2009) on Sunday morning 120 miles southeast of Galveston.

Earlier in the morning the ship’s agent had contacted the USCG to report that a crewmember was experiencing stroke-like symptoms and was in need of medical assistance.
