A Navios Group-owned VLCC was targeted by pirates while transiting the Straits of Malacca and Singapore in early last month.
The incident took place aboard the 247,491-dwt Nave Buena Suerte (built 2011) on 4 May at just after one o’clock in the morning.
Details of the incident were disclosed in the latest anti-piracy report published by the Singapore-based Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) Information Sharing Centre.
