The US Coast Guard (USCG) has successfully medevac’d a sick crewman from a Petros Pappas’s-controlled MR tanker off the US.
The 29-year-old Pilipino crewman was taken ashore from the 46,900-dwt Elixir (built 2004) 270 nautical miles from Southwest Pass, Louisiana.
The USCG’s Eighth District received a report from the Greek-flagged vessel that the crewmember was experiencing severe abdominal pain.
The Elixir crew is said to have transited closer to Southwest pass where a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin Helicopter crew met the vessel and hoisted the patient.
