A seafarer was killed after the LPG carrier he was working aboard suffered an engine room fire while sailing in the Middle East, TradeWinds has learnt.

The incident occurred in early April 2017, but details of the incident have only just emerged in the latest quarterly report of Tsavliris Salavage.

The 9,490-dwt Gemini Gas (built 1991) experienced fire in its engine room about 132 miles south-east of Salalah, Oman.
