A brand new Siem Car Carriers vessel grounded briefly off Germany on Thursday.
The company told TradeWinds the 7,000-ceu Siem Cicero was leaving Emden when the incident occurred.
CEO Kenneth Ross said: "The cause is under investigation - a software fault is one possibility. There was no damage to the ship or cargo and she is now underway again."
German media had earlier cited marine police as saying the vessel went off course in Dollart Bay due to a software error.
