A UK accident report has warned against the danger of tugs 'girting' while towing larger vessels.

Two tug crewmen died during a tow of a UK-flagged CMA CGM boxship in Madagascar last year, the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) said.

The incident involving the 1,048-teu CMA CGM Simba (built 1994) took place in Tulear on 20 September.

The 320-bp tug Domingue capsized while assisting the vessel.
