Evangelos Marinakis is reported to have been helping to coordinate relief efforts in the Greek town of Mandra, which has been left devastated by deadly flash floods.
He has been on the ground offering assistance, according to a statement on the website of Greek football club Olympiacos, which is owned by the shipowner.
The prominent Greek shipowner reportedly visited the town over the weekend and met several local dignitaries, including the local major.
