Maersk Line has contained a fire on another boxship a week after the fatal blaze on Maersk Honam.

The Danish owner said the incident occurred in the container underdeck of the 6,188-teu Maersk Kensington (built 2007) on Thursday evening.

The ship, owned by US subsidiary Maersk Line Limited (MLL), was en route from Salalah, Oman, towards Suez.

"All 26 crew members are safe and accounted for and the fire is reported to be contained," the company said.
