An intrepid Dane has become the first person to paddle across the 137-kilometre (85-mile) Skagerrak channel between Denmark and Norway while on a stand-up paddleboard.

Casper Steinfath took 19 hours to cross the dangerous currents between Klitmoller and Kristiansand.

Footage of the crossing can be seen on Casper’s Facebook page, courtesy of a new communications system onboard the offshore support vessel Arriver, which tracked his progress.
