The 25,300-dwt Stolt Valor (built 2004) has been deemed too badly damaged for repairs to be economically viable, ship repair sources say.
The vessel has been berthed at Arab Shipyard and Repair Co (ASRY) in Bahrain since late June. At the time of its arrival it was announced that the badly damaged ship would be repaired at the yard.
ASRY chief executive Chris Potter now says Stolt-Nielsen has decided not to go ahead with repairs.
