One missing after fire

One seafarer is missing after a fire on a cargoship off eastern China.

Fifteen other men were rescued from 3,800-dwt Hua Shan (built 1985) on Sunday night, however.

The men were all Korean nationals, authorities said. None of those rescued was injured.

The crew had reported the engine room on fire about 30km from Chaolian Island, off Qingdao city. They then boarded a lifeboat.

The ship was carrying 4,000 tonnes of coal.

The vessel is operated by Wanchang International Merchant & Shipping of Hong Kong.
