The transportation safety board (TSB) sent investigators to the Port of Quebec to assess the cause of death.
The 55,000-dwt Cobelfret-owned Lowlands Opal (built 2007) was boarded on Sunday morning.
“When something like this happens it’s our job to figure out whether it was an accident and how the accident was caused,” a TSB spokesperson told local media.
“Because it’s a death, now you have police involved.”
