The 1,800-cbm Yara Embla (built 2005) was stopped in Teeside on 9 April, according to the UK’s Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA).
MCA surveyors are said to have uncovered sixteen deficiencies related to ISM during the initial port state control inspection.
“This demonstrates that there was objective evidence of a series failure, or lack of effectiveness of the implementation of the ISM Code,” the MCA said.
