The incident happened at the GS Caltex Wharf No2 at 0935 local time on Friday, the Singapore shipowner confirmed.

The318,445-dwt Wu Yi San (built 2012) was under the control of two port pilots andassisted by five harbour tugs when it came into contact with the shore jettyand pipeline.

“Ourvessel sustained some minor damage on the forward part of the vessel, but therewas no oil spillage from the vessel,” Ocean Tankers told TradeWinds.

“Themaster reported that all crew onboard are safe. Presently the vessel is safelymoored in the anchorage.

“We are co-operating with the government authorities in theirinvestigation and on-going cleaning up activities.”

The Singapore-flagged tanker is reported to be haulinga cargo of North Sea crude oil to South Korea under charter to oil major Shell.

The nature of the pipeline damage and spill arestill being investigated and the Korean coastguard is responding to theincident, Shell said in a statement.
