The Maritimeand Port Authority (MPA) said the departing 2,959-teu Hammonia Thracium (built 1997)and the 12,100-dwt chemical tanker Zoey (built 2011) clashed in the SingaporeStrait, off Sebarok Island, on Monday afternoon.

The port operationscontrol centre had provided traffic information to the two vessels and had warned KoyoKaiun’s Zoey that the boxship was crossing the traffic lane, it added.

TheHammonia Reederei-operated ship has a damaged bunker tank, which has spilled 80tonnes of fuel.
