Siderfly scrapped

The Estonian cargoship that blocked the Kiel Canal after a collision last year is to be scrapped in Denmark.

Two tugs have towed the 4,400–dwt Siderfly (built 1985) to the Fornaes recycling yard.

The ship had been docked at Brunsbuttel since it was in collision with the 6,080-cbm Anthony Veder LPG ship Coral Ivory (built 2000) in November.

The waterway was closed for more than three days by the listing cargoship.
