The Coast Guard says the 43,193-dwt Summer Wind (built 1995) collided with one of two barges being towed by the tug Miss Susan off Texas City Saturday.
Four oil skimming vessels worked to clean up the spill overnight among some 20 vessels on scene to assist in the efforts. Some 27,400 metres of boom have also been brought to the area, and about 10,700 metres have been deployed.
