The 170–teu Journey (built 1995) went down after hitting the 3,700-gt, 2,000-pax ferry Lambelu (built 1997) at the port of Tanjung Perak

All 17 crew were rescued by other vessels.

"The incident occurred at 02.25 local time and an hour later the cargo vessel sank," a port officer named as  Marzuki said, according to the Antara news agency.

Journey, operated by Multiguna Shipping of Indonesia, was carrying 133 containers when it raised its anchor and drifted towards the ferry, which was dropping anchor.
