The30,000-dwt Genco Reliance (built 1999) was struck by a rudder problem whiletransiting the Egyptian waterway, sources say.
A vesseloperated by Greek company Vernicos Tugs was mobilised and took the GencoReliance to a repair yard in Tuzla, Turkey.
Repairs tothe ship are expected to keep it out of the market for a week to 10days.
Attempts toreach Genco for comment on the developments were unsuccessful.
