Ship sinks off Angola

A Greek-managed cargoship carrying 200 containers has sunk off Angola.

The Jornal de Angola cited port authorities as saying the 430-lane-metre ro-ro/lo-lo Saloos (built 1983) was now lying on its side in up to seven metres of water in the Bay of Cabinda

Oil major Chevron is among the companies helping to recover boxes from the vessel.

The Delmas-chartered ship was en route from Pointe Noire.

There were no reports of fuel spills or injuries.

The vessel is managed by Jade of Greece and owned by Navang Shipping.
