Officers boarded Rose Shipping’s 4,100-dwt Julia(built 2009) at Amsterdam after the body of the 26-year-old wasrecovered on Sunday off France, Dutch media said.
The investigation was launched at therequest of the vessel’s flag state, Cyprus.
A helicopter had been scrambled to look forthe man, but the search was initially unsuccessful.
The vessel was en route from Liverpool.
