The crew were brought ashore near Carnoustie after the Taybird suffered an engine room blaze in the early hours of Friday.
The boat was working with the 6,300-dwt Swedish-owned Pandion (built 2003) at the time.
The small vessel was towed back to shore, but the fire had been extinguished at sea.
The tanker is owned by Frederi Anna.
