The blaze broke out in the engine room of the 207,000-dwt Marigold (built 1990) on Sunday.

Fire crews tackled the blaze while two tugs stabilised the vessel, the West Australian reported.

Two Burmese crewmen and the South Korean chief engineer were treated in hospital for burns. One of them was said to be in a serious condition.

An investigation has begun.
