The country’s coast guard said the 6,100-gt Super Shuttle Roro 5 (built 1982) was forced ashore off Batangas City.
The Asian Marine Transport Corp vessel was taking shelter in Batangas Bay at the time.
It was not carrying passengers.
A tug was being brought in to free the ship.
