Local media said the fishing vessel sank after the incident involving Shoei Kisen Kaisha’s 38,200-dwt Ultra Vanscoy (built 2013) off Fujian on Monday.
On the same morning, the 8,500-dwt Korean-flagged chemical tanker Woojin Chemi (built 2003) was in collision with another fishing boat north of Fujian.
Six crew were rescued, but two were reported missing.
