The flagless 442-dwt Amin Darya (built 1987, also known as Al Noor) and 370kg of the drug were scuttled off Mombasa on Monday, witnessed by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The blast was carried out despite a court order to halt the destruction, according to the Standard daily.
The ship was seized in July. A Kenyan court had wanted the scuttling delayed so that any owner could claim it.
