The 70-year-old worker plunged 10 feet inside the 28,200-dwt Mount Hope (built 2014) during an inspection.
A ladder truck was used to help him out and he was taken to Tampa General Hospital.
The vessel is operated by Valiant Eagle Shipping of Panama.
