Local reports said a crewman was injured and passengers evacuated when the 1,700-gt Sjernaroy (built 1999) got stuck off Ryfylke on Sunday evening.

The ship was en route from Nedstrand.

Authorities scrambled a rescue helicopter and ambulance boat to help the 43 passengers on board.

They were eventually picked up by a passing fast ferry.

One crewmember suffered cuts to the forehead.

The captain and five other crew remained on board as the vessel took on some water

It was towed later on Sunday to Stavanger for repairs after it was refloated.
