The Bald Head Island vessel Adventure grounded in North Carolina in December 2013, injuring 14 people.
Star News Online obtained the USCG report which reads: “[The captain] made no efforts to slow the ferry Adventure’s speed from 19 knots before it came to a dead stop on the sand bar.
"If he had stayed about 200 feet to the starboard, the grounding would not have happened.”
