A total of 19 out of 21 men on the 62,000-dwt Agapi S (built 2012) developed symptoms over the weekend off Puerto Rico, the US Coast Guard (USCG) said.
The ship continued on its journey after two doctors evaluated the sick seafarers on Saturday afternoon.
The medics were taken to the vessel in tugs.
