The 4,250-dwt Nossan (built 1990) was carrying timber when it got stuck near Overby on Wednesday.
Emergency services said the ship had a metre-long whole in its hull, according to Swedish radio.
Pumps were used to combat water ingress and the situation was said to be under control.
No pollution or injuries were reported.
Divers were sent to the scene to assess the damage.
