It is still unclear why the 15,300-dwt Sundaisy E (built 2011) ran into trouble on Monday while on its way to Ontario.

No environmental pollution or water ingress was reported.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed three investigators on the scene near the Trois-Rivieres port.

They will gather information and assess the accident, TSB said in a brief statement.

Sundaisy E is owned by Italy-based Norbulk Enterprise, which has a fleet of seven vessels.
