Interislander’s 12,600-gt Aratere (built 1998)was taken out of service with a possible electrical problem as it prepared to dock in Wellington on Wednesday morning, local media reported.
The vessel took six months to fix after it lost a propeller last November.
Cracks to both rudders also emerged during its Singapore drydocking. It returned to New Zealand in July.
