The incident took place yesterday while the 4,600-teu MOL Express (built 2003) was manoeuvring at an anchoring within the port.
It was heading towards a yard for repairs on its main engines.
The Japanese owner said as of Monday noon the hull was in a stable condition and none of the 25 crew members had been injured.
There was no pollution as a result of the accident, MOL added.
