Experts tell TradeWinds a 138,000-cbm ship should be able to get close in to the stranded 165,500-cbm carrier, which is said to be “hard aground” in the channel leading to Nigeria LNG’s Bonny LNG terminal, to conduct a ship-to-ship (STS) operation using flexible hoses.
But they caution that a vessel of this size will need to go in with very little ballast onboard.
