According to the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), the 52,000-gt car carrier will move from its current position near Portsmouth and will be turned in the right direction.

Towage is expected to start at around 1545 GMT and the vessel will arrive at berth 101 of Southampton port around three hours later.

All water has been removed from the car decks and – taking into consideration the ship’s stability and weather conditions - Hoegh Osaka is ready to move.
