The tanker owner told TradeWinds the ship-to-ship cargo transfer – aided by Excelerate Energy’s 138,000-cbm Excellence (built 2005) - has been completed successfully.
Despite the company’s previous announcement that the vessel would not be refloated until Friday, it seems like a favourable tide helped the operation.
LNG carrier Magellan Spirit is now anchored and will undergo inspection.
Teekay said no damage was found to the vessel and it will prepare to backload the cargo and continue its voyage.
