The 69,708-dwt Overseas Jademar (built 2002) was stopped at Port Angeles on the US west coast just north of Seattle.

The deficiencies found onboard included non-functioning distress signalling equipment and fire safety systems.
The electronic position indicating radio beacon, which notifies authorities of the crew’s location in the event of an emergency, was found to be non-functional.
