The US Coast Guard (USCG) said the search for the missing man began on Saturday after the US-flagged Sea Bear went down.
“They called the vessel traffic service saying they were taking on water and they were about to enter the water themselves in their survival suits,” USCG officer Mark Averill told WCBS 880 radio.
The dead man was found without a survival suit.
