The 2,415-dwt Taxiarchis (built 1994) was heading to the island of Anafi laden with 1,000 cbm of diesel when it got stuck.
It took the efforts of three towage vessels to refloat the ship, which dropped its anchor later at the port of Rhodes.
There was no pollution during the incident but an inspector found some damage to the ship.
It was initially banned from sailing away from the port but vessel tracking websites show the vessel is now heading towards Symi island.
