Local reports said pumping of rotting waste from the 2,700–dwt Floreana (built 1984) has finished and the vessel will be towed out to sea and sunk within 10 days.
The ship will go down with 200 tons of cement still on board.
The final removal of waste water will be carried out in international waters.
Pumping had been halted earlier this month after a cable to a barge broke.
