The rescue organisation NSRI said this week it took the man off the 56,000–dwt African Starling (built 2013) last Wednesday off East London.

NSRI crews received an alert from Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA).

The vessel, heading from Brazil to Singapore, reported a crewman with cuts under his right arm and injuries to his right side.

Geoff McGregor, NSRI East London station commander, said rescue paramedics took the Indian national on to a rescue craft and brought him ashore in a stable condition.
